Super Bowl XLI Simulation Results - Colts 50, Bears 31
Football fans around the world are waiting for the biggest day of the year to arrive, that day will come on February 4th when the Indianapolis Colts take on the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Being both a huge football fan and a gamer, naturally I wanted to see what the results would be if I simulated the game in Madden NFL 07. Here are the results:
In the simulation, the Colts outscored the Bears 50 to 31, with more points in three out of four quarters, and marched to Super Bowl XLI victory. Peyton Manning passed for 394 yards with no interceptions (no turnovers at all for the Colts), while Rex Grossman threw for 258 yards and a combined 5 turnovers, 2 of which were interceptions. Fans of the Colts could rest easy during the game as their team kept the ball in their possession for 33:26, and never lost the lead after their 17 point first quarter. The only real point it looked like the Bears were on a rally-run was the fourth quarter, when they outscored the Colts by 8 points, but this was overshadowed by their empty board in the 3rd quarter.
FYI: The real results — Colts 29, Bears 17. One added note, since I've received a bunch of emails asking how I did the simulation. To simulate this game on the Xbox 360 you need to enter franchise mode, and manipulate the standings so the two teams you want to simulate make it to post season, then sim the game.
This game was simulated on an Xbox 360 using Madden NFL 07. It will be interesting to see how the real results of Super Bowl XLI will compare to these video game simulations of the game. Looking for more information on Madden NFL video games or the Super Bowl? Check the links below.
