The Sims 2 is a strategic life simulation game from publisher Electronic Arts. It came out in 2004 for Windows PC, and was later ported to other platforms, including Mac OS X, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox. Like other entries in the long-running series, you'll manage the daily lives and relationships of characters in a digital neighborhood. If you're looking for some help, here's a list of cheat codes that max out your attributes, give you more simoleons, and more.

This guide is specifically for the PSP version of The Sims 2. Guides for the The Sims 2 on PC, The Sims 2 on PlayStation 2, and The Sims 2 on Xbox are also available.

A Word About Cheat Codes

Don't rush to use these cheats early in the game. Cheat codes defeat the purpose of playing the game. Much of The Sims 2 revolves around leveling up your skills. The cheat does this for you, in addition to other things, so use it only after you've done a majority of the leveling on your own.

How to Get Max Attributes in The Sims 2

To get the maximum attributes:

  1. Press Select to go to the goal screen.

  2. Press and hold the L, R, and Square buttons until you see the screen flash a few times.

  3. Let go after 30 seconds. You now have all attributes maxed.

How to Get the Cheat Perk in The Sims 2

The cheat perk does a number of things. It builds up skills, resets urgencies, refills sanity, and grants 1,000 simoleons. Here's how to get it.

  1. Press Select and go to the inventory screen.

  2. Tap the right trigger until you get to the Perks section.

  3. Hold the L and R triggers while holding the Square button.

  4. Look for the Cheat Perk, a small blue heart icon with a grin. Press X to activate it, then press O to use it just like any perk.

  5. When you see This perk is only for dirty cheaters and ninjas, purchase it for zero simoleons.

  6. When you see the word Activate, press X.

At times, when the cheat perk is used, 1000 simoleons show up in the inventory screen a few minutes after using the cheat. It also boosts all attributes but won’t affect the way the game is played.

Tips for Getting Money in The Sims 2

All other glitches and tricks are pointless if you use the two cheats covered above. But, if you prefer not to use cheats, here are a couple of methods to gain money in The Sims 2.

Sell Secrets

Your Sims neighbors pay good money for secrets, so make the effort to find them in-game.

The Painting Glitch

When you start playing, build up your creativity first and start painting. After you make a few paintings, the stat should be full. You then earn 500 simoleons for every painting you sell, and there's no limit to the number of paintings you can sell.
