How to Cancel a Phantasy Star Universe Subscription

Sunday August 24, 2008

Automatic renewals are great aren't they? There is nothing like the ease of automatic monthly billing - there is no thought process involved, it just happens. OK, so it might be a bad thing if you set up an automatic renewal for a game subscription but you no longer play the game. This is exactly what happened to Joe Brawling (a frequent visitor to Video Game Strategies) with Phantasy Star Universe on the Xbox 360 video game system.

Ouch! Imagine paying for an on-line subscription for a service you never use — that's $120 over the course of a year. Luckily, one look at your bank statement and you can see the XBOX LIVE charge. In order to cancel PSU on the Xbox 360 you need to call Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. You'll need your personal information as well as your current gamertag associated with the subscription to cancel. If you are in the U. K. you'll need to call 0800 587 1102 to cancel.

Other subscribers, such as those playing on the PC or PS2 must cancel through SEGA's billing web site located here. Now you can rest easy and use that $10/month for games you might actually play.
