Dragon Age: Origins Cheats - PC

Sunday November 8, 2009

Dragon Age: Origins pc cheat codes are here. They aren't exactly the easiest codes to activate, but they are worth the time once you have them going... here are the details.

Please note: The use of cheat codes for Dragon Age: Origins requires the use of a command line parameter, and editing of a game file. As such, it is highly recommended that you first make a backup of any files before you edit them.

(1) sarg312 says:

I’ve tried entering the cheat codes the way you have it and it doesn’t work. when I’m in the game and I press the key to enter the codes and start typing in the codes and the all the different map windows and Character windows open up depending on which key I hit. I’ve done everything exactly the way it is shown and it doesn’t work.

(2) sarg312 says:

this doesn’t work

(3) vladi says:

Actually it does. You just CANNOT see what you are typing. You have to type it in exactly as stated. Have to be a good touch-typist.

(4) Jason Rybka says:

Vladi is correct… from the cheat code page:

Additional notes: This has been tested on the retail version of the game, not the Steam version (if you have more details send them over and we’ll note it here). Also, you may not see the cheat console or what you are typing… this is normal, continue entering the code and they should work as described.

(5) CheatersNeverProsper says:

How about you guys don’t cheat instead of complaining that the cheat codes don’t work.

(8) crabsncancer says:

“E:\Entertainment\BioWare\Dragon Age\DAOriginsLauncher.exe” -enabledeveloperconsole

Keybindings.ini:
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_Y

I run the game… press the “Y” key. I don’t get a console but I type “runscript zz_money 1000″.

I have the 1.01 patch. This doesn’t work.

November 13, 2009 at 3:40 pm
(9) silence says:

open the keybindings.ini file found in the game folder (My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\).

OpenConsole_1=Keyboard::Button_`

`=button above tab, or change it to any key you like ie

OpenConsole_1=Keyboard::Button_]

But for the life of my I can’t find anything Dragon Age\DAOrigins.exe, Dragon Age\DAOriginsLauncher.exe or any exe? Any sugestions?

(12) Chaosrex says:

For some reason when i try to add the -enabledevloperconsole line in the Target of shortcut properties i get an error message saying it cannot find this file, the name or url is wrong.

I’m on Win XP does it have anything to do?

November 14, 2009 at 9:34 am
(13) adybaby says:

crabsncancer : you need to modify daorigins.exe, not daoriginslauncher.exe
Xanastian : It’s in [whatever windows calls your default documents folder, e.g.My Documents]\Bioware\Dragon Age\Settings
Chaosrex – you need to add -enabledeveloperconsole after the quotes, not within them
CheatersNeverProsper I can’t see a single point to your post other than to annoy people. You must be a real popular guy.

November 15, 2009 at 6:19 pm
(20) vgstrategies says:

Remember you’re adding copper with the money cheat. So to add one gold you need to enter 1000 in with the cheat. Want 10,000 gold? Enter 10,000,000 with the code.

November 15, 2009 at 6:27 pm
(21) MightyWhitey says:

Yeah – me toowith the “no exe file” issue. using steam version so i know it might not work, but im wondering if i could add some line into the Daoriins config file to the same effect of the -enabledeveloperconsole …. i think the exe file is only activated online through the steam client, which is a pain. IF YOU DONT HAVE THIS GAME YET BUT WANT IT –DONT BUY THE STEAM VERSION!!! you cant even play the damn game if your internet goes down.

November 15, 2009 at 7:44 pm
(22) Stormbow says:

CheatersNeverProsper, you’re a damn hypocrite. What are you doing on this cheats site, eh?

These cheats work just fine. You have to be using the proper shortcut, and everything works exactly as it’s supposed to work.

(29) Gene says:

i did everything(i shortcut BINship/ dragonage.exe. Change the target and add the -enabledeveloper. Modify the button to X) and when i enter the code, i get numbers and letters on top of the screen and it’s like it just froze i can’t move my characters. BTW, i didn’t install the whole game to my PC coz it like 26 GB i just use the disc and play through the shortcut. SO what did i do wrong

November 17, 2009 at 3:10 pm
(30) EndosLos says:

In a way it works… if my game reacts to my given-key my charaters/game doesn’t react anymore to any key of click… but in case I can’t see what I’m typing and I focus… I don’t see a reaction

Do i need to end the code with the given key?

Cause i saw someone used the y (small) as the key..but that doesn’t work…I used the ~….but I need to press Shift and then the ~ button before it reacts within the game

can anyone tell me whyat I can be doing wrong.. or does someone thing what is the best usable key for the key-settings

November 17, 2009 at 8:32 pm
(31) RIck says:

Put two spaces after .exe”

It works

November 18, 2009 at 6:33 am
(32) aussiechris86 says:

space bar 2 times, this had me mind [censored] too. just go to the end and space bar space bar then paste in should look like this… daorigins.exe” -enabledeveloperconsole note the 2x spaces

November 18, 2009 at 7:57 am
(33) MEl says:

Done everything cording to instructions but cheats wont work. Tryed every succestion here. Got cheat working other games (which use similiar). When typing and pressing r(runescript) while letters and numbers appear to of the game screen. No matter which code I try or how I type it, nothing happens. Yes my character stop moving when pushin ~, tryed to hit backspace 2 times 50 times not at all…. nothing seem to work.

November 19, 2009 at 2:02 am
(34) Roelandt says:

Confirmed, a double space after .exe” works. My game file is on the desktop so it looks like this:

“C:\Users\Me\Desktop\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe” -enabledeveloperconsole

However, like the previous user, assigining the tidle key (`) in KeyBindings brings up a list of all letter and numbers in white along the top of the screen, and no variations of backspaces and command entries works. I tried “y” but “y” doesn’t work at all. I wonder if there’s a trainer software? This ain’t workin.

November 19, 2009 at 2:48 am
(35) Gil says:

Using the steam version of the game, so my short cut is more like
“C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\dragon age origins\bin_ship\DAOrigins.exe” -enabledeveloperconsole

When I open up the console, I can’t tell at all that I’m typing into it and have a list of characters at the top of the screen. Still works though, if you type it right.

November 19, 2009 at 5:43 pm
(36) Tsabo says:

When i tried applying the double space between .exe” and -enabledeveloper it kept taking out the second space

November 21, 2009 at 8:08 am
(37) Tsabo says:

So can anyone help with my problem? Am i doing something wrong?

November 21, 2009 at 11:17 am
(38) Jyn says:

After doing all the above (with 2 spaces and “C:\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe” -enabledeveloperconsole and changing GRAVE to q in KeyBindings); did NOT work.
Then I left the above as is BUT instead of pressing q, I pressed ` then I could enter the money code with 1500000 and got 150 gold.
Note: After pressing ` other letters, like i (inventory) no longer do anything, then when starting to type the cheat code I see a bunch of white letters across the top of the screen.

November 21, 2009 at 1:25 pm
(39) aceras says:

to remove the letters and allow yourself to do things after you enter the cheat, you have to hit return/enter again. for those of you using some random letter to engage the console, there is no need to change the .ini file. just use the key right above tab (`) to engage the console. you will NOT be able to see what you enter.
on another note, after you type a command in, you can hit the ` key and then the up arrow to reuse your last command.
