Cheats and Secrets
The following cheats, secrets, hints and tips are available for Super Paper Mario on the Nintendo Wii video game console.
Infinite 3D Mode with Mario
Once you have beaten Flopside: Pit of 100 Trials twice you will obtain Mario's card; this card will allow you to go into 3D mode for as long as you like.
Secret Arcade Mode
There is a secret area in Super Paper Mario where you can play up to four arcade games using the Wii Remote (the fourth needs to be unlocked with a Gold card). To reach the Arcade area go into 3D mode while in the Coffee Shop in Flipside B1 and use the pipe to get there.
More Experience Points
While in Flopside you can purchase a special item that costs 500 coins and will give you 10,000 experience points. Do not use it right away. Instead, go to a world that has a speed up or slow motion flower and get one. Now use the the item, when you do you will get 30,000 experience points instead of 10,000.
More Experience Points
Go to world 5-4 and head towards the pipe that sends out Sapiens. Jump on the block next to it and use Bowser's flame to destroy the sapiens that come out of it to gain experience points quickly and easily. The only drawback to this is you must already be past level 5-4.
How to Guess the Real Merlee
When you get to the area where you need to guess which Murlee is the real one, just look and see which one has a fly going around them. That is the real Merlee.
The Pit of 100 Trials Rewards List
When you finish the Pit of 100 Trials in Flipside you will receive the following:
- New Pixl - Dashell (allows you to run really fast)
When you finish the Pit of 100 Trials in Flopside (the second time around) you will receive the following cards:
- Mario
- Dark Mario
- Peach
- Dark Peach
- Bowser
- Dark Bowser
- Luigi
- Dark Luigi
Pixls and Their Special Abilities
The following Pixls can be unlocked in Super Paper Mario on the Nintendo Wii video game console. Unlock them to use their special abilities listed below:
- Barry Pixl - Allows you to shield yourself and couterattack enemy attacks.
- Boomer Pixl - Allows you to blow up objects.
- Carrie Pixl - Allows you to use sa platform to help you cross dangerous areas.
- Dashell Pixl - Allows you to run really fast.
- Dottie Pixl - Allows you to shrink yourself.
- Fleep Pixl - Allows you to flip objects that are stuck in the wrong dimension.
- Piccolo Pixl - Allows you to play special music that will destroy certain objects within the game.
- Slim Pixl - Allows you to turn sideways and squeeze through very narrow spaces within the game.
- Thoreau Pixl - Allows you to pick up objects and then throw them.
- Thudley Pixl - Allows you to shake the ground.
- Tippi Pixl - Allows you to use the Wiimote to scan items, get information, and reveal items that could not be seen otherwise.
Wii and Mario Easter Eggs
When in the Castle of Francis you will see posters and action figures from previous Mario video games. When you enter Francis' room (use the password 2828) and go into 3D mode you can see a Wii video game console and some Wii games hooked up to the TV.
Free Hints
If you want a free hint in Super Paper Mario simply save the game at the nearest location to where you are. Then take the return pipe back to Flipside and go to the fortune teller for your hint. once you have the hint, press the Home button to reset the game and then reload the game to continue it. You'll return to where you previously saved, know the hint, and the fortune teller's prices will not go up.
Using Style Moves to Gain Experience Quicker
Executing a style move (twisting and shaking the Wiimote during an attack) can be used to help you gain experience more easily. The more style moves you do, the greater the multiplier becomes. You can also hold down the jump button (thus keeping you in the air longer) while performing a style move.
Get the Space Helmet in Chapter 4-1
To get the space helmet needed to breathe in Chapter 4-1 you will need to do the following. Exit the area and see Merlon who will tell you he forgot he gave away the item you are looking for. Then go to Flipside's third floor and speak to the kid holding a fish bowl. He'll give you the bowl but you'll need to find a place to put the fish. Go to Flipside B1 and go all the way to the right to a body of water to release the fish. When you return to 4-1 you will be asked if you would like to use the helmet, say Yes and you're good to go.
Safe Combo for World 2-3
When you have to come up with a million rubees after breaking a vase you can use the Slim Pixl to access the vault safe at the bank by using code 41262816. You can get the Slim Pixl a couple of levels down from the prisoners. You can also use the password 5963 at the generator room. You will be paid for running around in there. Rather than do the running yourself position the controller and place something that will keep the directional button pressed in the correct direction to keep you running. Leave it for a while and when you come back to stop it you will be paid heavily.
