What is an Ultimate Photon Art? And, how do I get one?
Different skills, techniques, and bullets that can be purchased from NPC shops in Phantasy Star Universe are called Photon Arts. In addition to those arts that can be bought from vendor shops there are 'Ultimate Photon Arts,' these arts cannot be purchased directly from an NPC vendor. Instead, you must earn PA Fragments by obtaining an S Ranking on an S Rank mission.
When you get an S Rank on an S Rank mission you will receive a PA Fragment, in addition to the meseta and mission points which are normally rewarded for successful completion of the mission. The various Ultimate Photon Arts that can be acquired can then be purchased for a set number of PA Fragments, the details on each of the arts and their PA Fragment cost is listed below.
In order to actually get your hands on one of the Ultimate Photon Arts you'll need to play a mission at one of the various Guardian's Headquarters. Each city has missions set-up specifically for certain types of Ultimate Photon Arts. Here is where you can get them.
These missions are currently not available, but will be available in a future PSU server update, per SEGA this will be on March 2nd.
- Bullets - Holtes City Guardian Headquarters, Parum (Bullet License Mission)
- Skills - Dagora City, Moatoob Guardian Headquarters (Skill License Mission)
- Technics - Ohtaku City, Neudaz Guardian Headquarters (Technic License Mission)
