How to Unlock Characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3

New fighters can be unlocked by beating different game modes with different characters. Some secret characters must be unlocked by other means.

Android 16 Play Krillin's Dragon Universe mode a second time to find Android 16 north of the world tournament arena, then take him to Bulma in West City.

Dragon Ball #4 On the left island near the map border in Frieza Saga, southwest of the upper-left island (Namek).
Dragon Ball #5 Where the compass is on the map in the water in Cell Games (Earth).
Dragon Ball #6 By the main island towards the middle by North City in Buu Saga (Earth).

In Kid Gohan's story mode, there are four Dragonballs on Earth and three Dragonballs on planet Namek. Some Dragonballs may be in the water.

How to View Special Character Scenes in Versus Matches

Most characters have a special scene that plays out before certain matches. Pit the following characters against each other in Versus mode to view one of the special character scenes:

How to Unlock Alternate Costumes

Press Left on the PS2 controller when choosing your fighter at the character select screen to switch into their alternate outfit.

How to Find Membership Cards

All three membership cards are located in Goku's Dragon Universe mode on an island just north of the large bridge. You must complete Dragon Universe three times to get them all.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 Bonus Items

If you have save game data for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 on your memory card, you'll automatically unlock the Silver Membership Card, Babidi's Pot, and Bardock for free.

How to Get the Gogeta Capsule

Play Dragon Universe mode as Goku or Vegeta. Continue until you get an invitation from Goten and Trunks to fight in a fusion battle. Win the fusion battle to get the Gogeta capsule.

How to Get the SSJ4 Transformation Capsule for Vegeta

Go to West City as Vegeta to see Bulma on the Majin Buu map to receive the capsule that allows Vegeta to transform into his SSJ4 form.

How to Get Babidi's Pot

Complete the tutorial in Chapter 12 where you learn how to taunt enemies to get Badidi's Pot.
