The PS2 version of Grand Theft Auto 3 has cheat codes that unlock all weapons, change the weather, and more. There's even a way to get infinite ammo without using cheat codes.

These cheats apply specifically to the PlayStation 2 version. There are separate GTA 3 cheats for Xbox and the PC version.

Grand Theft Auto 3 Cheats for PS2

Enter codes with the PS2 controller at any time during gameplay. You don't need to pause the game first. To disable a code, enter it again.

Saving with cheats enabled can corrupt your game file. Save before entering cheat codes, then quit the game without saving when you're done playing.

Use the D-pad, not the analog stick, for codes with directional buttons.

How to Get Infinite Ammo

When you collect over 9,999 rounds of ammo for a weapon, you automatically get unlimited ammo. You'll still have to reload, but you'll never run out of bullets.

How to Repair Vehicles for Free in GTA 3

To repair damaged vehicles, park your vehicle in your garage, then get out and walk away. After the door closes automatically, return to your car to find it fully repaired.

How to Maximize Your Garage Space

If you overload a garage, you can park more than two vehicles. In fact, you can fit six small cars into the garage. When you have two cars in the garage, jam one of them under the garage door so that it won't close. Then, drive the others into the garage to get all six to stay in the garage.

How to Fast Travel Between Islands

To quickly get to the second or third island from the first, drive your car to the first island and park next to the blue wall near the tunnel that blocks off the other two islands. Blow up your car to be flung to a different island.

How to Get a Free Paint Job

If you want to change the color of your car, pay for a repair at Pay 'N Spray, then drive back in to get a free paint job.

How to Raise Your Maximum Health

Grab a fancy car and drive to the Red Light District to pick up a lady. If you take her to an alley and wait, you'll eventually raise your maximum health to 125.

Easy Kills in Vigilante Missions

Start a new mission and go near a suspect's car. Pause the game, then unpause it. The suspect will jump out of the car and you can then run them over.

Shoot the Moon Easter Egg

Shoot at the moon with your sniper rifle to make it change size. This Easter egg has no real purpose; it's just fun to do.
