Mastering the Road Rage Stages
The Road Rage stages seem hard at first but here are a few tips to assure you will win each one. The first thing to keep in mind is that the AI cars always travel in groups of four. The key is to try for a double take out and get every car in the pack. If you simply move on to the next pack and repeat this using the same tip of using the rear tire take out method, as described earlier, with a little practice it's possible to get 35-45 takedowns in the time allotted. Always use the DX or the Dominator car whenever possible.
Burning Lap Tips
This is a simple race with you and a special car racing against the clock. You need to keep in the oncoming lane whenever possible and make every turn smooth and avoid all potential crashes. Each burning lap is set up the same way as far as making it through and earning a gold medal. It will allow you one or two minor crashes and that's all! If you have a real bad crash, you will need to run a perfect race from this point on.
Use the oncoming traffic to fill up your boost meter. Do not go for the long drifts as this will only slow you down. Make quick turns and watch the course for what's coming up. Using these tips and some practice will almost guarantee you a gold medal. If you find an event that you are losing by a few seconds, move on to another event and come back. If you're frustrated, there is no use re-racing the event at that point. Cool off a bit, and come back to it later.
Crashing Tips - Don't Just Crash, Create Havock!
During the world tour, you will also need to enter Crash Events. The object is simple; create the most damage and score the highest amount of damage dollars possible. You need to master the “After touch control,” hitting the “A” button during a crash while moving the control stick in the direction you want to aim. You will also see 2X and 4X icons, as well as explosive red icons. Each crash has a certain basic pattern, timing is the key.
Get Your Timing Right and Learn the Course
You will see the course before you begin, the only advice other than mastering the after touch move is learning where everything is so you know exactly where to shoot for. Also, at times what may seem like the best ramp to take may actually be the wrong one. To write out a complete walkthrough for each Crash event would take days.
Just use common sense and go for the biggest targets and avoid the broken heart Icons - “heartbreakers”. This will deduct half of your earnings as well as take away the 4X or 2X awards if you hit it. Just watch the replay and look where the 4X icons and explosives are located. Mastering the after touch can be your best friend in this event.
