Recoil

By Jason Rybka, About.com

Definition: This term has the same meaning in video games as it does in the military, it is basically the jerk-back, or kick-back effect of a weapon firing, which may cause the position of the fired projectile to be off target.
Also Known As: kickback
Examples: If you choose a gun with less recoil, it will be easier to get more accurate shots.
