Burnout Revenge is a great game and the perfect follow up from Takedown 3. However, the gameplay and the strategies are a bit different. So instead of just bringing you some codes , it was time to write another helpful course in the finer points of the game. This will be a two part article just like the Football 101 and 201. In Burnout Revenge 101 we will focus on the racing events as well as a few online tricks and then in 201 we will look at the crash events and the perfect lap events.

All the tips have been tested and work so if you want to school those online or beat the single-player mode, here are the tools. A word before we get to the good stuff. Reading the tips and pointers alone will not make you any better at the game. You will need to practice. With that in mind there will be a few tips on how to practice the things you read. In time you will be taking down the A.I. and real racers with ease and be able to complete the single player mode.

Take Downs Revenge Style

Burnout Revenge is a bit different due to the speed and the way the A.I. cars are set up for Road Rage events. While most of the tips and methods are just variations on what worked in Burnout Takedown 3, you will need to be prepared to adjust a few ways of approaching the takedowns. The best way to start is of course with the Road Rage events.

While playing the single-player mode, the A.I. will still travel in groups of four. The biggest change is with the courses and being able to get a double takedown first as well as being a master of the vertical takedowns. What makes this more of a challenge is now certain cars are not available to you and unlock in a different way. You want to pick a car that is light but not extra light. You want the ability to move and get air but also enough weight to avoid being taken down yourself. It would be impossible to pick the car for you so just choose one that suits the need and let’s begin.

Stop and Drop Method

Unfortunately with all the short cuts and faster pace of gameplay, this method won’t help you as much offline but it is still effective online, but only with certain players. If you know a course well and have the shortcuts down pat, get to the front of the pack using them. Pull off to the side but don’t stop as before instead drive slower and watch for the other racers who will think here is an easy takedown.

Make sure you’re next to a guardrail, wall, or tunnel and when they make their move, turn into their car and try clipping the front tire. This should knock them out of control and score you a take down. Remember — do not try and turn into the wall or protection or it will be you getting taken down.

Rear Wheel Rocket Method

This is still the perfect way of getting the most takedowns on or offline with a few minor changes. Here is the original method of perfecting this. You want to get as close to the rear wheel as possible and actually touch wheels while turning into the car, with some practice this will send the opposing car flying. Now here are a few new tips for the Burnout Revenge way of perfecting this method.

Offline the A.I. travels in packs of four but will break into groups of two. So get ahead of the first A.I. car and perform the move on the leader of the pack. This will not only insure a takedown but will increase the chances of a double takedown. Online just get next to the racer who will always try and side swipe you. Keep their rear wheels in sight and when they move into you, they are really helping you perform the takedown.

It takes a bit more practice and when online or facing one of the specialty cars, like the EA or Logitech racer, this method will be perfect. Now here are a few new ones for Burnout Revenge.
