Chromehounds Hints and Tips - Xbox 360 - Chromehounds Tips Part 1

Hints, tips and strategies for Chromehounds on the Xbox 360

From Rich Reed, for About.com

Chromehounds Secrets

The Secrets you asked for but could not find. There is so much in Chromehounds that this could be 15 pages and not cover everything. I wanted to touch on things I learned, questions I get and things I just found by playing the game.

Most players do not know when you capture a compass that there are LEDs on each side that will light up when it is taken, red for Morskoj, blue for Tarakia and green for Sal Kar. Don't open the map and wait for the area to light up. You're exiting the radar map and you may wind up leaving yourself open to a surprise attack. You have a night vision installed and a thermal but can't switch to one and others do? Okay this is simple, but unless you know or someone tells you, it can be a pain. The two parts have to be from the same country to switch turn off the one using the trigger. If not armed, hit the left bumper to cycle through these parts. While night and thermal vision must be from the same country, the missile counter can be from any country.

Armor can make the difference in any battle. Use armor when you can and avoid making easy targets on your hound. At times I use a wheeled Hound or Hoover with piles. I see countless other pilots who leave there generator or extra fuel tanks open and exposed. Be smart when building a hound and test it out with the whole squad.

For those new to the online world of Chromehounds, at times it is better to pick the training missions than going into the real war zones. This way you learn to work as a squad build up money and know your hound. If you need to look at what weapon you have armed, then you need more time in training. Pilots that are good and are in the top rankings will know what weapon are how many clicks it takes to switch to the one they want without ever taking their eyes off the enemy.

Finally, while taking out the enemy is fun at times it is better to have one or two fast but powerful hounds to try and destroy their base. In certain fights, it may be wise just to take over the enemies' compasses and win that way. Less exciting but a huge bonus and you wind up winning without having expenses.

Part two will be more advanced and include some ideas for hounds and new ways of adding parts without the hassles, situation strategies, and how to win every lottery you enter as a squad. Chromehounds is more than a Mech game. It changes while you're playing. Until part two is ready to post, if you are stuck or need help, send an Email and it will be answered. Just please remember that due to other responsibilities and real life it may take a day or two but they will be answered.
