Street Trace N.Y.C. Weapons Breakdown
Use the following weapon breakdown to get the most out of your Street Trace N.Y.C. gameplay.
Rockets
These tend to be everyone's go to weapon of choice in the arena games. With a little bit of heat seek and some splash damage they are one of the easier weapons to use.
The upside: lots of damage (especially when maxed out) and ease of use.
The downside: they require some open space and are difficult to use in tight tunnels and tight race tracks. Also, you will find yourself running out of weapon juice if you over use them.
Pulse Laser
This starts out as a fairly slow, extremely accurate and efficient weapon. You aren't going to take many people down with this one at level one (though if someone is almost dead and you are low on juice it's worth a couple of pot shots to finish them off).
The upside: once you invest some money in this or grab some tech ups for it, it becomes a rapid fire, deadly weapon of choice. It consumes very little juice so you can almost hold the fire button down. It is also very accurate over long distances and can almost be used to "snipe" people (though I wouldn't recommend standing still too long).
The downside: it needs to be upgraded to become effective. It's also not very effective in tight tunnel situations.
Mines
Over the course of a Street Trace tournament, you will often find yourself being chased by other players (you have the lead in a race, a flag, the hunter tag, etc... maybe they just like hunting you). Mines become indispensable in these situations, just keep dropping them and you will eventually whittle away the health of the your pursuers.
The upside: great for holding onto a lead. They can also be good for squeezing out a few kills in take down if you mine the heavily trafficked areas of the map.
The downside: it is difficult to take a flag from a flag carrier or otherwise specifically target someone who isn't chasing you.
Stampede
There are a few ways to use this weapon. If you are new to the game and having trouble with your accuracy, this weapon shoots in a spread so investing in it and using it often can be a good idea. It's great in take down for firing into crowds and taking down a few people at once. Advanced players will also use this weapon like a shotgun, if you get up close to someone and fire a well aimed stampede round into them, you can hit them with the entire spread, so in this way a maxed out stampede gun with lots of green bouncing projectiles can be more powerful than a maxed out rocket. If you are a new player or an advanced player with the ability to maneuver close to people at high speeds than this weapon is for you. If you are a mediocre player I'd stick with the rockets. The stampede is also great in races and tunnels as it will bounce around corners.
Tip: hit your breaks for a second off the start line in a race and launch a few rounds of stampedes into everyone's backs.
