We end our first set of walkthroughs for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter with the last map in the first pack. The Temple is perhaps the hardest map in the Co-Op mode. It is certainly the largest and with the thick dense jungle and the ruins offering plenty of cover for the enemies, it may be easy to give up on completing this one. While everything above is true about the Temple, it’s really not that hard if you take the tips and suggestions below, with a little practice you’ll complete the fourth map and the perfect chapter awards.
To save a bit of time, everything in the Old Town walkthrough and the Treasury walkthrough applies here. Wharf is slightly different due to the layout and the time of day. You will rely on the grenadiers and the riflemen in this map more than any of the others in Campaign 1. Snipers are really a waste and we suggest using the mix of two grenadiers and two riflemen just like in the Old Town map.
Also by now you know the importance of having two players on the team that know how to use the drone and to split up in teams of two. There is one slight difference for this map — an experienced player can go alone and help out the other team members a great deal. I review this difference in more detail later on.
Main Objectives and a Successful Start to the Mission
Once again from the drop off point, have one member adjust the drone to the North or straight ahead. Split up into two teams keeping the same methods as in the other maps. Here for the start you will want to keep the team of a grenadier and another member on each team and split; having one team on the left and one team on the right.
The objectives seem easy but there are a few twists that make the Temple rather hard to avoid hidden snipers if you are not careful.
The main objectives: Eliminate the Lieutenant in the middle Temple and his body guards. Then get to the Extraction zone and hold off the attack from the enemy. Of course for a perfect mission you will need to destroy all secondary missions and weapons caches.
Take out the Enemy APC and Destroy the First Weapons Cache
Head north keeping the two teams separate and on either side of the paths, this will avoid a sneak attack or a grenade blast killing off the team early. Head for the armored truck and the few enemy guards — as usual, a grenadier has a better chance using the MR-C/AGL . Use the double zoom to easily take out a few of the guards and then have another member using the same weapon join in until the armored truck is in range. Have the member that is the best shot with the grenade launcher take out the truck.
You may want to miss the first shot on purpose. This way it will flush out any enemies lurking nearby. Since a few yards away there is the first enemy camp with the weapons cache, you’ll need to know this before moving on. Now the best part of this level is, while it is huge, there are several ammo supply crates lying around. In other words, do not be afraid to use the ammo you have.
After the armored truck is destroyed and the other enemies are killed, the first team should back track to the first ammo crate and reload while the second team heads to the enemy camp and knocks out the yellow box which represents the first weapons cache. There will be a few stray enemies that will try to pick you off so work as a team and keep in contact using the headsets.
