On this page we continue our walkthrough of the on-line cooperative maps found in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox 360. By now, you should have already read the first mission, Old Town . In this article we will cover the basics, and some more detailed strategies to get you through the next mission in Campaign 1, Wharf .
Wharf if a deceptive level, but it can be easily completed with the right group of people, the right selection of weaponry, and a little bit of teamwork. The majority of the level is fairly dark, especially in the first section where the ruins and the campgrounds are located, so on this map you'll need to make special use of the drone, and special use of the voice communication with your team.
Lets take a look at the right weapon assortment and team allocations.
Choosing the Team and Weapons
In Wharf you will want to have at least one Marksman when you have enough people. I recommend if you have at least three people playing, send one in as a Marksman. Ideally, you will want to play with a Rifleman, 2 Grenadiers, and a Marksman, any additional slots can be filled by whatever type of character the additional players are most comfortable with.
The main reason you need a Marksman on this level, is that there is a perfect sniper post overlooking the Wharf where your Marksman can pick off up to twenty rebels, not bad for standing in place. The problem here is that you'll need someone watching your back, because rebels will come from behind and kill you if you aren't careful. I'll detail the exact location in the beginning of the mission. Take note however, that while a Marksman is recommended, a Grenadier or Rifleman can inflict the same amount of damage with a double-scoped weapon if they know how to use it correctly.
Starting your goal of Conquering Wharf
When the mission begins immediately sent the drone forward, towards the ruins. As your team moves up there will be up to three rebels located in or near the ruins, pick them off and then move the drone to the left, down the hill. The team should now split into pairs. Have one set of team members head through the ruins, or to the left of them where you will see a cannon and wait for the other team to clear the campground before you begin.
The other team should take control of the drone and clear out the camp areas at the bottom of the hill. This area is really simple with the use of the drone, just make sure you clear it out before your sniper begin firing down on the Wharf - communicate with each other.
Your sniper should be at the cannon along with a Grenadier as backup. Have the Marksman pick off what he can from that location, and then move to the stairs where a window can be found, continue sniping. The Grenadier can look into the cave area for rebels coming to take out the sniper, there are sometimes up to seven or eight rebels coming for you, so be ready.
Look at the map and make sure there are no more rebels coming to the sniper-post by the stairs, once you have confirmed there are none, you can move towards the Wharf through the cave-type area. Be careful because as soon as you hit the wharf area there will be additional rebels in front of you, and to your right. The team by the campground can go one of two ways; they can move all the way up the map to hit the beach directly, they can move in towards the Wharf right by the last tent, or they can split and do both (recommended so all bases are covered). It is not recommended that both move in by the beach, as this will leave the team open to be flanked from behind.
