Taking Cover
Taking cover is the best way of avoiding enemy fire. To protect yourself behind a wall, a vehicle, or any other form of shelter, move the left stick in the direction of the shelter. You may then lean forward to take aim and fire, while remaining beyond attack.
To leave your shelter, move down the left stick of press the Y button.
Precision Shooting
Your shooting will be more precise if you are immobile, rather than in motion. In the same way, you will achieve greater precision if you are lying down rather than standing up. The cross-wire in your sights indicates your precision, the further apart it is, the less precise you are. When it turns red after firing, that means you hit your target!
The CrossCom
The CrossCom is a command interface that allows you to communicate with your team members and see through their eyes. Whenever one of your CrossCom partners fights, the color of the CrossCom icon changes. If he has some information to pass on to you, an exclamation mark appears. Press right and left on the D-pad to select a speaker.
Leading Your Team Members
Once you have selected your team in the CrossCom, press up on the D-pad to give it an order. If you aim at an enemy, your team member will attack it. If you aim at a location, they will go there. Press down to order them to come back to you.
Stealthy or Aggressive Teammates
To change the behavior of your teammates, select them in the CrossCom and press LB. In Recon mode, they will only attack on your orders, and will become less easy to locate. In Assault mode, they will fire as soon as an enemy is in sight.
Controlling Vehicles
Once the vehicle has been selected in the CrossCom, press up on the D-pad to order it to advance, down to reverse and up or down to stop it. If you want it to attack, designate an an enemy and press up. Remember to use vehicles to remain under cover while advancing.
Intels
When an enemy is located, his symbol appears in your HUD. To anticipate combat and surprise the enemy, you can send your teammates or you UAV drone to reconnoiter the terrain. You will then be able to locate the different enemy positions.
The Battle Zones
Your objective is shown constantly in your HUD. If you leave the battle zone, the mission will be cancelled. When Bud tells you that you're approaching the boundary of a zone, do not hesitate to open the tactical map to find out where you are and take the best route.
The Tactical Map
The tactical map gives you a global view of the battlefield. Once the map is open, use the left stick to designate a position, then press Up on the D-pad to order the speaker selected in the CrossCom to go there. If you designate an enemy, the speaker will attack him.
VIPs
Some people are crucial for your mission. If they die, the mission will fail. When you have to protect someone, be doubly vigilant by consulting the tactical map and advancing as much as possible under cover to avoid being located.
Rally Points and Containers
Rally points enable you to heal yourself and change weapons and teammates. You will also find different kinds of containers; some allow you to change weapons and heal yourself, others to stock up on ammunition.
The UAV 3 Drone
The UAV 3 drone enables you to reconnoiter the terrain and locate enemies who are hiding there. Once the drone has been selected in your CrossCom, press LB to change its altitude. At high altitude, the drone is invulnerable but cannot scan the zone. At low altitude, the drone can collect information but it risks being located by the enemy and destroyed.
