Duping items in Phantasy Star Online Xbox is a simple process in which you can 'dup,' or duplicate a character's items easily using an Xbox Action Replay device [Compare Prices]. You will need an Action Replay unit in order to duplicate items in PSO. At one time, it was possible to use an on-line glitch to duplicate items while in an online game, however, the Phantasy Star On-line Episode 1 and 2 servers no longer allow this, and a patch has been released on Xbox Live which prevents online duping.

To duplicate your character's items, follow the steps below.

1. Insert the Action Replay Memory Unit into the Xbox controller slot.
2. Select offline single player as the game type.
3. Select a character.
4. Select Move Character.
5. Transfer the character to the Memory Unit.
6. Insert the Memory Unit into the computer connector (the Action Replay USB port)
7. Drag and drop the file to the PC Database in the Action Replay program.
8. Once saved, reinsert the Action Replay Memory Unit into the controller.
9. Move the character back from the MU to the Xbox (VERY IMPORTANT).
10. Remove the Action Replay Memory Unit and re-insert it into the computer connecter.
11. Drag and drop file from PC Database back to the Action Replay Memory Unit.
12. Insert the Memory Unit into the Xbox controller.
13. Select Offline Multiplayer.
14. Select the original character.
15. Select the temporary character from the Action Replay Memory Unit.
16. Empty out the temp character's inventory onto the ground. (only about 30 - 60 at a time or the items begin to disappear)
17. Have the original character pick everything up.
18. Quit multiplayer.
19. Delete the temporary character that you just emptied.
20. Go to step 11 and repeat as needed.
    

You have now successfully duplicated all of the items on your Phantasy Star Online character, and this character should now have two of everything you began with.

Tips for Xbox PSO Duping

Always make sure you save the character in the PC database before moving items.
Special note on this: Once the items have been moved you can simply start at step 11 above to continue moving more of the same items to another character, or more to the same character.

When moving items between characters, do not drop more than 60 items at once, they will begin to disappear.

Remember, your PSO game save cannot be backed up to a memory unit, so if you corrupt your profile you will need to start over. If you follow the steps carefully you will not have a problem duping your items.
